Family law, practiced with purpose
At Caprio Law, we believe family law is never just about legal documents or court appearances — it is about people navigating some of the most important transitions of their lives. Our attorneys offer thoughtful, strategic, and deeply human representation to individuals and families across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Sophia Caprio
ATTORNEY
Sophia Caprio focuses her practice exclusively on family law, representing clients in divorce, child custody and support, prenuptial agreements, and complex family disputes across Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She is skilled in negotiating marital settlement agreements, managing contempt and enforcement actions, and guiding individuals and families through deeply personal legal transitions with clarity and care.
For Sophia, family law is where the law intersects with real human experience. She has always been drawn to helping people navigate the issues that most profoundly affect their relationships, families, and personal lives. Her approach is empathetic, practical, and forward-thinking — offering clients clear guidance while helping them move through uncertainty with confidence.
Before Caprio Law, Sophia practiced family law at a reputable mid-sized Boston firm and previously represented clients at a leading national law firm, where she focused on complex business litigation and dispute resolution in state and federal courts, securing multi-million dollar awards and settlements.
A Rhode Island native from a large Italian family, Sophia brings warmth and relatability to her work. Outside the office, she enjoys traveling, pilates, long outdoor walks with her husband and their mini-Australian shepherd, Charlie, spending time at the beaches of the Ocean State, and discovering new restaurants.
Sophia is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island and has been recognized as a Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch honoree in Family Law and Family Law: Arbitration and Mediation, as well as a Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star.

Andrea Dunbar
ATTORNEY
Andrea Dunbar brings nearly two decades of experience representing clients in high-net-worth divorces, contested custody matters, and complex family and fiduciary litigation across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. A skilled trial attorney and accomplished negotiator, Andrea helps clients achieve their goals through thoughtfully crafted settlements — or decisive litigation when necessary.
Her practice includes all aspects of probate and family court matters, including trust and estate disputes, guardianships, conservatorships, and high-conflict cases involving family businesses, corporate fiduciaries, and multi-generational trusts.
